With team members dispersed in all different regions of the globe, Cantilever has a unique perspective on the effects of climate change. So when our clients at National Children’s Museum (NCM) asked us to breathe new life into their Climate Action Heroes website and get more kids involved, we were eager to do our part.
The previous website was built on an outdated platform and lacked the excitement and visual pop needed to engage kids and keep them coming back. So our primary goal was to create a more fun and memorable experience that would encourage repeat visits.
We also wanted to promote email signups as a way to ensure our young planet-savers and their parents could stay involved over time.
Introducing the new and improved climate-heroes.org.
In addition to migrating the new website onto Webflow to give the experience more room to evolve and grow, we made wholesale design updates using bright colors and kid-friendly graphics, working in partnership with a content partner the museum had brought into the mix.
We also developed a more natural flow of information that made the site a breeze to navigate for both kids and parents, and weaved a can’t-miss email signup form into the design of each page.
On the new site, kids learn about climate science and take a quick quiz to discover which type of climate action hero they are. Then, our heroes click on their monthly mission brief for special activities to help fight climate change at home, while parents can sign up to receive future missions in their inboxes every month.
Although the new site just launched, it’s already making a positive impact—for National Children’s Museum as well as the planet.
